ARCHIVE NEWS
The 2023 Edinburgh Art Fair has drawn to a close. What a fantastic weekend I had.
Thank you to all who came and said hello and viewed my art. Thanks too to the lovely people who purchased work from me. I hope you will enjoy your choices for many years to come.
I continue to be humbled by the love shown for my work.
Thank you!
Archive - Cancer Research UK Fund Raising Auction
This piece, 'Solace Atoll', was designed, created and donated to a Cancer Research UK fund raiser held in September 2022. Donated items were auctioned at a dinner in front of 300 business people. This piece eventually sold under the hammer for £2000. Solace - to seek comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness.
Reaching a Milestone
- On Saturday the 1st of August 2020, after a 10 year hiatus, I relaunched my art career from my front garden in Kingsbarns, and sold my 1st painting in the UK that same day. Less than a year later, on Sunday the 18th of July 2021, I hit a little milestone (well actually a massive milestone), I sold my 100th painting. I am incredibly grateful for the support I have received, especially from the residents of Kingsbarns and the East Neuk. Thank you one and all. I am humbled.
- Up date - Thursday 11th August 2022, during the Pittenweem Arts Festival, I sold my 200th painting. Thank you for all the wonderful support in the last year. See feed on my Instagram page in link.

Some Current Favourites
Umlungu (M-lung-gu)
I am a Zimbabwe born abstract expressionist artist and photographer, living in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Umlungu was the endearing nickname given to me during my many years working in South Africa.
Inspiration? I am inspired by many things in life, but each painting is an expression of me at that very moment in time. Therefore, each piece is unique.
Planning? Hell no! Creative luck fuelled by bold, impulsive, messy mayhem. I use the word ‘luck’ loosely as canvasses are often reworked many times to achieve my desired creation.
Technique? I work in mixed media on stretched canvas using a variety of implements (my box of tricks) to create a desired effect. Colour, texture and contrast are prolific in my compositions.
What makes me happy? Being creative and walking in nature makes my heart sing. My soulmate Jill, my children, family and friends (I love you all).
“Abstract art is just like music or song, like poetry, dance or sculpture. It is an expression of who you are, of what you feel, believe, see or love. It exposes your soul!”
